Can you imagine a world with less waste, more sustainability and better skills?

So can we! RE: looks at preserving the future through upcycling, refurbishing and reimagining. Taking products and materials that would otherwise go to landfill, RE: gives them a new lease of life. Turning them into practical, useful items that sustain our way of living while preserving the environment.

Let’s be a society that RE:uses, RE:cycles and RE:shapes.

RE: equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to create unique, handmade and sustainable products. Our students are assigned live briefs which allow them to see, at first hand, the impact their work has on the community.

We have the perfect blend of departments to provide the expertise and experience your project requires. Our aim is to become a centre of excellence for green skills development and waste reduction, and to be a leader in developing circular economies and sustainable practices.

Our workshop services covers all areas of a product’s life cycle to ensure we maximise its potential lifespan and beyond.

These include:
  • Design
  • Construction
  • Refurbishment
  • Repair
Whether it’s a piece of furniture, an installation, or a space, we will create something that has a story to tell.

RE: nurtures and supports students to think creatively, problem-solve and develop skills that can benefit not only a career, but everyday living. We prepare students for the growing number of exciting new roles that question environmentally-damaging processes, address global crises and reflect diverse community needs.

  • Gain the skills and knowledge to start a profession
  • Learn joinery, construction, repair and design
  • Understand global, national and local needs within sustainability
  • Be supported in developing critical thinking and ideas to find solutions and action
  • Gain links to established organisations, charities and businesses
  • Collaborate in selling the products you make
Most of all, we take a non-academic approach as we provide hands-on learning. We embrace unique perspectives and encourage individuality.

Peak into our space

Spiral arrow pointing left

Our Mabgate campus opened for the first time in September 2022.

Previously a furniture factory before becoming an empty, derelict warehouse, we upcycled the space to create exciting new learning environments with a sustainable and industrial theme. Shaking up the traditional learning setting and putting an emphasis on creativity and wellbeing.

Let’s turn waste into positive action
