In September 2019, our new state-of-the-art campus will open its doors to two of our largest schools, the School of Creative Arts and the School of Health, Care & Public Services. Situated in the newly developed cultural quarter, with modern, fit-for-purpose classrooms, independent learning spaces and social areas, not to mention incredible views over the city, this inspiring environment will be unrivalled in the region.
School of Creative Arts
Visual & Digital Arts, Games Design, Media, Music and Performance Production
With purpose-built facilities such as a theatre complete with backstage technical equipment, recording and film studios, dance studios, a costume workshop, a newsroom and gallery spaces, our Creative Arts students will be training in the most current of environments. Students will be right at the heart of Leeds’ creative community, surrounded by leading institutions such as Leeds Playhouse, Leeds College of Music and Northern Ballet, all of whom the college works with closely.
School of Health, Care & Public Services
Health Science, Social Care, Early Years Education and Public Services
Replica practical care suites and kitchens will give students studying health and social care, a realistic experience of their future working environment. With rapid growth in the need for health and social carers, these facilities will be training the health and caring professionals of the future. The themed nursery rooms will help those training to go into Early Years teaching to understand the different teaching philosophies while those preparing for uniformed professions such as the police, army or fire service will enjoy exceptional learning spaces.
Designed by Ellis Williams Architects, the £57m development is located at Eastgate and is being built by Wates Construction North East & Yorkshire. Part-funded by the college, the project has received a £33.4m investment through the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Deal – a £1 billion package of government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region. This investment is part of the Northern Powerhouse Schools Strategy, which focuses on helping young people succeed and developing a talented workforce for the future.
